The Cambridge Proficiency Examination was introduced in 1913 and has been accepted by universities, employers and government departments since then. This exam is used to evidence students ability to use English at a level approaching that of a native speaker.
The CPE, like other Cambridge exams, uses real-life situations. It is proof of language skills needed to communicate at the highest levels of academic and professional life.
In order to to sit for this exam you should be able to:
