During this day and age hospitality and tourism is one of the largest international businesses. The role of culture is now recognised as having a major impact on international sales, marketing recruitment, management and mergers. This course is designed to help tourism professionals understand the notion of cultural tourism and the different types of tourism drivers.
Module 1- Cultural tourism and Definition of Culture
Culture is a definition highly misunderstood and misused and is geared to give a general explanation. Culture refers to the following Ways of Life, including but not limited to: Language, Arts & Sciences, Thought, Spirituality, Social activity and Interaction. Cultural tourism is often referred to as one of the major pillars of the Maltese tourism.
Module 2 -What is Visual Culture?
During this module, candidates will study everyday life in a contemporary society, characterizes by a constant flow of images. On billboards, TVs, internet, and buses; in magazines, newspapers, emails, and airport terminals; the fast-paced production of images has revolutionised the way we communicate with and influence one another.
Module 3 – Roles and Impact of Culture and Tourism on Attractiveness
Cultural resources increase the attractiveness of the destinations. This module will focus on the relationship between culture and tourism. Through means of transport, tourists shall be able to visit cultural sites. It is highly recommended that cultural sites are connected to the capital cities of the country.
Module 4 - Cultural Tourism Demand in Europe
This module will look into the demand of Cultural Tourism in Europe. Europe has always been an important destination for those attracted by its rich cultural and historic legacy therefore this module will explain further the culture of these rich destinations.
